Day 2 - Snow Day!

Extreme snow and wind forced the 2009 BMO National Championships indoors at the SaskTel sports centre in day two of the tournament. All four Challenge Trophy games had to be rescheduled for later in the evening and only one of the Jubilee games was played with the rest rescheduled. With only a few hours left in the day, games had to be shortened to 60 minutes of play as the last start time was scheduled for 10:35pm.

Saskatchewan Huskie Alumni fans who braved the elements earlier in the day at Umea before the scoreless game was abandoned and then rescheduled, got quite an exciting match Indoors at the SaskTel Sports Centre.
The Huskies Alumni mid-field was able to control most of the play giving Alberta's Calgary Callies offence few chances in the first half of play. Huskie Alumni striker Jay Thomchuk provided a lot of the excitement with several great opportunities to score on the Callies net, but came up short. Mid-way through the second half of play Thomchuk received his second caution of the match which resulted in a red card and left the Huskie Alumni with only 10 players on the field to finish.
Soon after the Callies strikers Felix Napuri was able to finish on one of the few goal scoring opportunities provided, and his team took the lead and ultimately the match. Final score Alberta 1 Saskatchewan 0.
